Fairy Spring is located in the southeast Mt. Evergreen of Bama county, at 104 degrees north latitude, 24 degrees east longitude, with dense plants all the year round and abundant sunshine. Fogs like rosy clouds seeped through the mountains and air from the ground and sky are circulating. The air is filled with negative oxygen ions. There is a junction between Karst lava and diabase, where deep spring water at the bottom of the mountain dissolves minerals and micro-elements and then rose to mountainside, finally, overflew naturally from the mouth of the spring. In the morning, at the time from 3 to 5 am., there are many people from nearby village carrying pots and torch arriving at Bama county, southwest of China. They are walking into Mt. Evergreen, marching towards mountain sides, looking for fairylike spring water. The collection of Double-seventh Festival water in Fairy Spring is just last two hours in the morning in one year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. All the way, hearing the sound of villagers’ hurried footsteps and vessels collision, the villagers believe that every year Double-seventh Festival water in Fairy Spring is the most precious water endowed by the nature.
In the morning, from 3 to 8 am., on the road to Mt. Evergreen, people carrying water pots come and go without stop. This kind of scene can be seen every year. People worship the mouth of the spring piously. They use a gourd to carry water from the spring before 7am since before that the water is the most sweet and delicious. After getting water from the Fairy Spring, down the hill, the villagers wear happy smiles on their faces. The sweet taste of the water in Fairy Spring carries a fresh taste of the land in Bama and leaves a lifetime memories of people lived in Bama from generation to generation.
Long ago, there is an ancient festival in Bama——Double Seven Water Worship Festival (also called Getting Water Festival), on July 7th of every year in the morning, thousands of people from all directions gathered at Fairy Spring Mt. Evergreen, Bama and to get water. They believe that the water got from that time at that place can live longer and escape disasters. At the same time, they can express their thanks and worship to water.
To inherit and promote traditional custom of “Double Seven Water Worship”, Bama Lifelong also takes it as part of brand culture and carries forward the culture. Let more and more people take part in the activities of protecting the precious water resource.
